Exotic

Image
This week's challenge at Less is More is on the theme of 'something exotic'.  How fun! My search of suitable exoticism provided me with a lovely flower cluster I had stamped at a card group, so don't know its origin, but I think it is Japanese cherry blossom - so this is what I created. Image is heat embossed in gold, I also found a little wooden stamp by Kaiserstamp of Japanese characters that says Peace, and I watercolored the panel with distress inks.  Having cut out my flower spray, and popping it up on the panel, I dabbed and smeared gold pigment over the background.  The panel was cut with ME Basic Die set, and mounted on a black card.  I think this looks exotic - and I like it:) Rushing off to act as Secretary at our Probus Club, so must fly!

Something French

Image
Less is More has a one layer challenge this week, and the theme is 'something French'.  Ooh la la!  so many things we think of when we think French, but one layer - so no dies!! When we have visited Provence, we have loved the rolling fields of lavender, so this has been my choice this week: Card recipe: Stamps:  'Lavender' by Power Poppy - image stamped wet on watercolour paper, sentiment stamped with Versafine Onyx Black, using the Misti to stamp twice. Colour:  Distress Markers
